The Shamshir is a Persian/Iranian sword with a radical curved blade which is very effective for both slashing & stabbing actions; this is a one–handed, single–edged sword with a convex curved blade. These types of swords are generally associated with Middle–Eastern cultures. The pommel of the sword continues from the grip into a ‘U’ shaped bulge which prevents slipping when the sword is wielded; this grip is made from high quality hard wood which sandwiches the full tang blade of the sword; the cross guard & pommel is made from solid steel with a silver inlayed flower design on both sides. This sword is designed to be well balanced & wielded with one hand & is stiff enough to thrust & slash easily. The blade is hand forged & expertly tempered from superior quality high carbon steel & has two narrow fuller on both side of the blade. The scabbard is made for quality hard wood covered with leather & is further decorated with silver inlayed flower design carrying fitments such as the chape, locket & suspension rings which can be used for looping around ones waist.
