The Zulfiqar is the sword of the great Ali ibn Abi Talib (Imam Ali), the cousin, son-in-law & the designated successor of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. According to legends the sword design is depicted to be one–handed, single–edged, double–tipped, with a curved blade. The pommel of the sword continues from the grip into a circular shaped bulge which prevents slipping when the sword is wielded; this entire unit is made from high quality hard wood which sandwiches the full tang blade of the sword; the cross guard is made from solid brass. This blade is crafted using high carbon steel, possesses the inscription in the Arabic language which reads: “لَا سَيْفَ إِلَّا ذُو ٱلْفَقَارِ وَلَا فَتَىٰ إِلَّا عَلِيٌّ” meaning “There is no sword but the Zulfiqar, and there is no Hero but Ali”, the blade is polished to a mirror gloss finish. The scabbard is made of high quality leather.
